"Overall, it was a great book! I think it will be quite helpful for anyone
on the job search - from the recently graduated college student to the
seasoned professional."

"This book provides distilled and succinct material written to a broad
audience in a truly step-by-step reader-friendly format. The ‘Rules’
listed in the Prologue are absolutely right on and include points
overlooked in other ‘how to’ books. ATS (post Chapter 10) provides
effective daily and weekly job search activity tracking system. Our
clients with a ‘military mind-set’ will identify and find comfort in
the daily to-dos.
Exercises-really quite excellent and remarkably ‘doable’ and
approachable by the most intimidated job seeker.
Materials covered in Chapter 5 (specifically, SIC code) are often
overlooked in other ‘how to’ books. Resources in this area are
difficult to come by. Chapter 9, focusing on Post Employment
Rules-innovative and good ideas.
Resources--Phone Scripts with ‘Bypassing the gatekeepers’ and ‘Sample
phone scripts’ is an excellent resource tool with depth/details not
often found in other ‘how to’ resources. The Letter Pack with ‘Example
letters for search response’ is the most comprehensive I've ever seen."

"I found your ‘book’ to be very useable because it was written in
down-to-earth language. Your writing style and advice are to-the-point,
and job seekers don't want to have to read a novel to get ideas. ...
Also, the book is direct (job seekers need to be spoken to in a
supportive manner but not too softly if they are to take action) and
practical (job search techniques need to appear "do-able" if the job
seeker is going to even try them).
The worksheets, word and phrase lists and exercises were great. It is
one thing to just tell a job seeker they need to self-assess. It's
another to actually provide basic checklists and self-inventories right
in the book!
The pdf, EXCEL or html options are great too and make it easy to retain
records (i.e., worksheet data). The interactive learning methods and
graphics utilized through the CD ROM format appeal to many learning
styles. As a career professional, this CD ROM will be a great resource
for my staff, clients and students."

"Your book is fantastic! I love the humor and very practical approach it
takes. It takes a very intimidating process and changes it to a tangible,
doable set of action plans. I found myself reading parts of it out loud
to my co-workers."

"...found it not only comprehensive, but clever in the way you had
worksheets attached in many of the sections. Your material seemed to be
up-to-date and would be really beneficial for the job seeker...found the
interview section especially good!..."

"I work with mid-career professionals and I would not hesitate to
recommend ‘Ready, Aim, Hired’ to them as a valuable and succinct job
search resource guide.
While I am partial to Laurence Boldt's ‘Zen and the Art of Making a
Living,’ I found your book to be less labor intensive and more focused.
...your book is especially useful to job seekers who have too little
time and too much anxiety. Your step-by-step process is especially
comforting. ... your humorous, but no-nonsense, approach to the job
search process...
In short, you've written a valuable tool for turbo-charging the job
search right from the start, all the way through to the finish. In other
words, you've written a comprehensive guide that doesn't require more
volumes than the Encyclopedia Brittanica."
